Jess Van Nostrand

Jess Van Nostrand is an independent curator and arts educator whose work functions at the intersection of exhibitions and public programming.

Jess is currently the Director of Public Engagement and Curatorial Strategies at the Morris Museum, having previously held public programming positions at the Lower Manhattan Cultural Council and at the Museum of Modern Art. She is a Trustee at the Visual Arts Center of New Jersey, and has previously served on the Board of Directors for Smack Mellon Arts Center and ArtTable, the national leadership organization for women in the arts. Jess is passionate about creative projects that take the audience into account, especially those in which the exchange between artist and audience is mutually beneficial.

Jess received her BA in Art History from The George Washington University and her MA in Art History from Richmond, The American University in London. She also holds a certificate in Financial Success for Nonprofits from Cornell University.
