Khajistan

Saad Khan and Joey Chriqui

Khajistan is a New York–based archive and publishing platform led by Saad Khan and Joey Chriqui. It preserves and digitizes print media from North Africa to South Asia that has historically circulated outside formal archives. With over 50,000 digitized items and the world’s largest collection of Pakistani film memorabilia, Khajistan focuses on erotica, propaganda, pulp magazines, religious ephemera, and subcultural print, much of which falls beyond institutional and platform-driven knowledge systems. Through exhibitions, film, and publishing, the archive documents vernacular media across the region. Recent projects include Spasial Program at SculptureCenter and Office of War Information (O.W.I.) at Pioneer Works.
