Rediscover Project was launched by Junichi Okuyama in 2024. The project engages in the reinterpretation and reconstruction of value using fragments of Kutani and Suzu ware destroyed by the Noto Peninsula earthquake, as well as discarded pieces from production processes. With the participation of designer Kaori Okuyama and Wajima lacquer artist Hidenobu Keizuka, diverse materials are interconnected through craft techniques, exploring the potential of assemblage-based expression. The project illuminates the time and memory embedded within each fragment, rediscovering value and questioning the very process of their formation. Major exhibitions include Dancing with All Things: Ecology of Empathy ((21st Century Museum of Contemporary Art, Kanazawa, 2024) and We Are All Fragments (AWASE Gallery, Tokyo, 2026).
