Risa Puno
Risa Puno is an interactive artist who takes play seriously. She translates complex social topics into disarmingly fun experiences to help people connect more openly with one another. Her work often incorporates game-like elements that offer structure and permission for people to safely explore their limits, creating space for them to tap into genuine emotions. Puno’s practice is grounded in 'kapwa,' a pre-colonial Philippine ideology meaning "shared identity" or "shared humanity"—the belief that we navigate spaces as a community rather than alone.
In 2024, Puno opened her first museum solo show at The Fabric Workshop and Museum in Philadelphia, exploring the labor behind collective care. Previously, she was part of Soho Rep’s 2022–2023 Writer Director Lab, and in 2019 she created The Privilege of Escape as Creative Time’s inaugural Open Call winner. She was also named FIGMENT’s first-ever Interactive Artist of the Year.
