Shama Rahman

Shama Rahman (she/her/hers) is a marketing leader, creative consultant and workshop facilitator from Queens, NY. Currently, she serves as the Senior Director of Brand and Growth Marketing Strategy at New York Magazine, where she focuses on growing the subscription business through brand, content, and audience strategy. Previously, she worked as a creative strategist at The Wall Street Journal and in brand marketing roles at The New York Times, Whitney Museum of American Art and Solomon R. Guggenheim Museum. As a workshop facilitator, Shama has held workshops for The Harvey B. Gantt Center for African-American Arts & Culture, The New School, Eyebeam, New INC, Mana Contemporary and the Gotham Film & Media Institute. She graduated from Smith College, where she studied Economics, Art History and Museum Studies, and is a board member of the Smith College Museum of Art.
