Shin Hanagata

Shin Hanagata is a Tokyo based artist working across performance, new media, and contemporary art. Amid a technologically accelerated capitalist society in which the realities of being “self” and “human” are increasingly destabilized, Hanagata focuses on technologies that mediate the relationship between body and world such as communication systems, wearable devices, and prosthetic and orthotic apparatuses–a practice exploring a Torsion of Humanity.
