Studio DEMO x YoungArts: In Media Res

Studio DEMO x YoungArts highlights the bold and innovative alumni of YoungArts programs who embrace NEW INC’s spirit of multi-hyphenate creative expression.

Across digital design, games, and immersive media, artists are building narrative worlds that unfold through participation rather than observation. This conversation brings together Christiane Paul, James Sprang, and Leo Castaneda to explore how contemporary storytelling operates across platforms and formats. From interactive environments to game-based structures, they examine how immersion reshapes narrative time, authorship, and the role of the viewer within unfolding, dynamic systems.

Studio DEMO is a live broadcast hub at the New Museum, open to drop into throughout the day and available via livestream. Featuring NEW INC's wider creative community, broadcasts take the form of talks, demonstrations, couch conversations, panel discussions, DJ sets, and more. This year, NEW INC partners with peer organizations to build thematic programming for Studio DEMO. Partners include Geidai Project, Onassis Foundation, Rhizome, Serpentine, YoungArts.
